On November 3, 2020, three men sped through Highway 48 in Peterborough before being pulled over by the OPP, discovering a deer carcass and approximately 14 kilograms of cannabis, reported Global News.
The three vehicle occupants were arrested and charged with “possession of illicit cannabis, possession of more than 30 grams of dried cannabis in a public place and possession of a carcass unlawfully skinned, cut or packed.” The driver was also charged with speeding.
Shuiyuan Jin, 66, Hon Ying Kwan, 57, and Wilson Yeung, 52, are to appear in Peterborough court on December 9.
In a separate incident in Peterborough on September 22 this year, the OPP seized 3,787 cannabis plants, a debudding machine, $4,845 in cash, a 2019 Dodge Ram pick-up truck, a Bobcat skid-steer, a utility trailer and a John Deere lawn tractor, according to the Peterborough Examiner.
An unusual incident happened earlier this year in South Africa as well, where a taxi was stopped during a lockdown procedure which led to the discovery of about 30 kilograms of cannabis and a sheep carcass in the vehicle.
